Becoming Thriving Zen.
Â
Early in my career as a newly credentialed Dietitian, I found myself in a room full of physicians and pain specialists. I felt the weight of being the "new graduate" until I was invited to share my story. In that moment, the room shifted. These experts didn’t just want my clinical data; they wanted to know how to truly reach the people they were treating.
A participant later called me a “patient turned practitioner.” That was the moment my mission became clear. I realized my lived experience wasn't a distraction from my clinical work—it was my greatest asset. I had been that patient, lost in the system, and I knew exactly how to build the bridge to healing that was missing for so many others.
 The Path to ThrivingÂ
For years, I was burdened by a complex web of chronic conditions: Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis stage 4, PCOS, Diabetes, and musculoskeletal disorder leading to six surgeries. Beyond the physical toll, I found myself trapped in a fragmented healthcare system that only knew how to treat one disease at a time. I was juggling specialists and contradictory treatments, feeling overwhelmed, unheard, and profoundly alone.
I reached a breaking point where I realized that "just surviving" was no longer an option. I needed to thrive.
I stopped looking for a magic pill and started evaluating the pillars of my own wellbeing. I committed to a proactive, holistic approach—integrating nutrition, mental resilience, and spiritual health. Flare-ups were inevitable, but giving up was unacceptable. I moved from the "push-and-crash" cycle into a life of intentionality: participating in running events, hiking, and rediscovering the strength in self-compassion.
This transformation sparked a calling that I couldn't ignore. I left my corporate career to master the science behind my recovery, pursuing intensive studies in Nutrition Science, Functional Nutrition, and Mind-Body Medicine.
Today, I am a Licensed and Registered Dietitian, an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP), and a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. I’ve spent my career in clinical and management roles across hospital and outpatient settings, but my true purpose was born in 2020 when I founded Thriving Zen.
I built this as a gateway to empower you. I’ve been the patient lost in the system, and I’ve become the practitioner who knows how to navigate health with autonomy. My mission is to give you the clinical strategy and the lived-experience roadmap to take charge of your wellness and finally THRIVE.
A Higher Standard of Care: Beyond Conventional Nutrition
Through both my clinical practice and my personal journey, I’ve learned that conventional medicine often hits a ceiling—especially when you are navigating multiple chronic conditions. Traditional interventions might manage your symptoms, but they rarely restore your vitality.
I’ve designed my approach to move beyond the limitations of standard Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). By integrating the Functional Medicine framework with Integrative Nutrition, I provide a level of care that is shown to improve outcomes where traditional models fail.
